A Safe Place For Unhoused Women

The Sims Cottage is the only rental home that Wildflower House currently operates however, we are interested in opening more. The Sims Cottage was named after Patricia Sims and her former husband, Richard Sims. Together, they provided the funds required to rent and furnish the home. Patricia Sims continues to donate the funds that keep the home running. The Sims Cottage is the only one of its kind in Asheville.

Wildflower House rents the Sims Cottage and then rents out the bedrooms to unhoused women. These women would not otherwise be able to rent due to barriers like low credit scores, poor rental history, and/or not enough income. Wildflower House pays all of the bills associated with the home including lawn maintenance, pest control, and utilities. The women are able to make just one payment per month which keeps anxieties low.

Bedroom Features

All of the bedrooms are named after local native wildflowers.

Each bedroom is carpeted and painted khaki with white wood trim. For added security, each bedroom is outfitted with a keyless pad entry.
