wildflowerhouse
We help to restore comfort, dignity, and security to those transitioning out of homelessness or crisis by providing essential home furnishings and more.
Welcome to Wildflower House
Wildflower House, a nonprofit organization based in Asheville, NC, was established in 2022 to support the city’s most vulnerable populations and address the escalating housing crisis. Our early initiatives included operating multiple shelters and providing temporary housing to those in need. Today, we continue this mission by managing a home for formerly unhoused women in West Asheville, creating safe and supportive spaces for recovery and growth.
In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across Western North Carolina, Wildflower House has expanded its mission to meet the evolving needs of our community. While we remain dedicated to serving the unhoused, we now also assist individuals and families affected by crises or natural disasters. To this end, Wildflower House operates a furniture bank, providing essential items to help restore comfort, dignity, and hope to those rebuilding their lives. Our priority is to ensure that everyone feels secure and supported in their home.
The name “Wildflower House” reflects the resilience and fortitude of those we serve—individuals who, like wildflowers, flourish despite adversity.
Thank you for your interest in Wildflower House. As you explore our site, we invite you to consider supporting our mission. Together, we can create meaningful change in our community and in the lives of the people we serve.

Our Current Focus
The Wildflower House furniture bank, headquartered at Trinity United Methodist Church, 587 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC, serves as a vital resource to those in need of essential home furnishings. Our store is thoughtfully stocked with both new and gently used items to support individuals and families who are formerly unhoused, or recovering from natural disasters and living below the area’s median income.
Our resident interior designer carefully curates furnishings, creating spaces that offer both comfort and beauty. With the assistance of our dedicated volunteers, we manage the entire process—from picking up donated furniture to delivering it directly to our clients.
Wildflower House partners with community organizations and works on a referral basis to identify and support clients who will benefit most from our services. Through this collaborative approach, we aim to restore dignity, hope, and a sense of belonging by helping individuals create safe, welcoming homes.

Ongoing efforts... The Sims Cottage

Wildflower House pays for a portion of the rent and all of the bills associated with the home. Currently, 3 formerly unhoused women call the Sims Cottage home.

Past Efforts

Jubilee Alternative Micro-Shelter (JAMS)
JAMS sheltered, fed, and donated supplies to over 1,200 unhoused folks over the year that it operated. This effort would not have been possible without our extraordinary volunteers, our amazing community partners and the perfect space offered by Jubilee Community!
